As System Administrator you will need to know about activities and activity notes in order to make some decisions on setup of function and security. You will also want to be able to create Activity Plans and Activity Campaigns. These two features are very helpful in taking your business processes and automating them by the use of multiple activities. An Activity Plan occurs on only one contact record and Campaign Activities occur on multiple contact records by means of a filter.
All Activities and activity notes are created and maintained on contact records. They are displayed on a special Panel 7. Unlike data fields the activity fields are an ActionWare design. The labels and fields cannot be changed. The activity bar represents an activity contains labels for the following data:

When an activity is Pending it appears on the ToDo List of the Target User. The activity notes are created under the activity bar. When activity notes are created they appear in a free form word compressed work screen that automatically enters a date and time stamp and a userID at the beginning of each note. It is not a word processor in that it does NOT have a spellchecker, but it is very easy to use. Activity notes can be of any length. Activities, whether Pending or Completed are displayed in chronological date order on the Contact Record on which they were created. The combination of activities and activity notes are a powerful tool for any user.
