Adding Contact Records

The standard method for adding Contact records is to press A for Add. This action will result in the following menu options:

Besides the letter options you may choose corresponding numbers 1 through 4 as well. This is true for most of our menus.

Press C or 1 for Contact record. This action will result in the following menu options:

a Blank record

A new blank record is created

M

the Marked record

A new record is created based on your marked record

the Above record

A new record is created based on the record you were viewing at the time you pressed A for Add

Once you choose one of these options you will be prompted with the following menu options:

Select required data layout. . .

What happens:

data layout #1

creates a record with a SID of . . in the 1st two positions

M

data layout #2

creates a record with a SID of / / in the 1st two positions

P

data layout #3

created a record with a SID based on the data in the CON field (contact field)

creates a record with a data layout based on prior use

Key data into your new contact record and if you need to move through the rotating panels you can use the function key F11. Once finished keying all data, press Enter to complete the task on adding a new contact record.

You may be prompted by a listbox on one or more fields if your System Administrator has setup listboxes with Validate or Forced Entry. Should a listbox appear choose data with your cursor from the listbox and press Enter to complete the task of adding a new contact record. If you encounter multiple listbox pop-up windows - resolve each in turn and than press Enter to complete the added contact record.

To cancel the Add of a new Contact Record use the function key F12
